Botox in Media, PA

Delaware County patients have trusted our Media dermatologists with their skin since 2004. Our injectors plan your Botox around the way your face moves, and they aim for a rested look you can still smile and frown with.

Image Description

Botox by Concern

Start with the line that bothers you most. Your injector checks the muscle behind it and tells you if Botox, filler, or a skin treatment fits it better.

Upper face

The upper face is where Botox does its best work and where the FDA approved it.

  • “Angry” or tired look between the brows: the frown muscles pull your brows down and in. Approved in 2002, with a labeled dose of 20 units.
  • Squint lines at the outer eyes: approved in 2013, 24 units split between both sides.
  • Horizontal forehead lines: approved in 2017. Your injector treats the forehead together with the frown lines, so your brows don’t drop.
  • Low or flat brows: a few units under the outer brow lift its tail. This use is off-label.

Lower face

All lower-face uses are off-label. They need smaller, precise doses, and you want an experienced injector for them.

  • Jaw clenching or a square jawline: Botox in the masseter muscles relaxes clenching and slims the jaw over 6 to 8 weeks.
  • Upper lip that disappears on smiling: a lip flip turns the lip out a little. It wears off sooner, in 2 to 3 months.
  • Dimpled chin or downturned mouth corners: small doses relax the chin and the muscles that pull the corners down.

Neck

Vertical neck bands: the FDA approved Botox Cosmetic for platysma bands in 2024, with doses from 26 to 36 units. Treatment softens the cords that show when you tense your neck.

Lighter Doses and “Baby Botox”

Baby Botox means fewer units spread across the same area. You keep more movement and get a softer result, which suits first-time patients and people who show expression for work, such as teachers or presenters.

Standard dose Lighter dose
Movement Lines smooth out at rest and in motion Lines soften, and some movement stays
Cost Higher per visit Lower per visit
Duration 3 to 4 months 2 to 3 months
Good fit Deep or etched lines Fine lines, first visits, preventative treatment

You can start light and add units at your two-week check if you want more effect.

How Much Does Botox Cost in Media?

Your Botox cost comes down to two numbers: the units your muscles need and the price per unit. Your injector gives you both, plus your total, at your consultation and before any injection. Your first consultation will be free or credited toward treatment.

What sets your total

  • Number of areas. Treating frown lines alone costs less than a full upper face.
  • Muscle strength. Men and patients with strong frown or squint muscles need more units.
  • Dose style. A lighter dose uses fewer units per visit and wears off sooner.

Lowering your cost with Allē

You earn Allē points on each Botox Cosmetic treatment and can apply them to your next visit. Allē also releases member offers through the year, and our front desk can tell you about current Media promotions.

Before you book a Botox deal

Prices vary across Delaware County, and a low per-unit price can hide a diluted dose or a counterfeit vial. Ask any provider who will inject you, which brand they use, and how many units your quote includes. Dysport needs about 2.5 to 3 times as many units as Botox, so per-unit prices for the two brands don’t compare. At our Media office, a dermatology provider injects every patient, and you can see the vial before treatment.

Timing Botox Before an Event

Book your treatment 3 to 4 weeks before a wedding, reunion, or photo shoot. That gives Botox two weeks to reach full effect and leaves room for a touch-up.

Weeks before the event What to do
6 to 8 First-time patients: book a trial treatment to see how you respond
3 to 4 Main treatment
1 to 2 Touch-up if one area needs more
Under 1 Too late for new Botox. Bruises or uneven results may still show on the day

Ask for a lighter dose before a wedding if you want natural expression in your photos.

Pairing Botox with Other Treatments

Botox relaxes muscle movement. It does nothing for sun spots, lost volume, or rough texture, so many Media patients combine it with a second treatment.

Your dermatologist will build the order of treatments into one plan at your consultation.

Your First Two Weeks After Botox

The first day. You can go back to work or errands right after your visit. Keep your head upright for 4 hours, don’t rub or press the treated areas, and save the gym for tomorrow. Light makeup is fine after a few hours.

Days 2 to 5. Small bumps and redness fade within an hour of treatment, and any bruise fades over a few days. You start to notice softer lines toward the end of this window.

Days 10 to 14. You see the full result. First-time patients return for a quick check, and your injector notes your response in your chart for next time.

Month 3 and after. Movement comes back over a few weeks. Book your next visit once you see lines returning, which for most patients happens at 3 to 4 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Botox hurt?
Most patients describe a quick sting at each point, over in a few minutes. Our injectors use a fine needle, and you can ask for a numbing cream beforehand.
How often can I get Botox?
The FDA label advises at least 3 months between treatments. Patients who keep their results steady come in three to four times a year.
Can Botox stop working?
A small number of patients develop antibodies and respond less over time. Spacing treatments at least 3 months apart lowers that risk, and switching brands can help if it happens.
Will people notice I had Botox?
Friends tend to say you look rested. A natural result depends on dose and placement, and you can ask for a lighter dose on your first visit.
Can Botox help with jaw pain or clenching?
Botox in the masseter muscles can ease clenching and jaw tension. Dentists and dermatologists use it off-label for this, and insurance does not cover it. Ask about it at your consultation.
Does Botox fix wrinkles under the eyes?
Botox helps crow’s feet at the outer eye. Crepey skin right under the eye responds better to laser or skincare, and your dermatologist will point you to the right option.
