Gopal A. Patel, MD

Dr. Patel is a board-certified dermatologist with a distinguished background in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. A New Jersey native, he graduated as valedictorian of his high school class and earned a full academic scholarship to UMDNJ – New Jersey Medical School, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and his dermatology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, where he also conducted clinical research in medical dermatology, publishing several articles in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks.

Dr. Patel further advanced his expertise through a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, where he studied the biology of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma. Currently, he shares his knowledge as a Clinical Instructor at the VA Medical Center Dermatology Clinic in Philadelphia, mentoring the next generation of dermatologists.

Dr. Patel provides comprehensive dermatologic care, with special interests in skin cancer, medical dermatology, and cosmetic treatments. His approach emphasizes building strong doctor-patient relationships and delivering personalized care. Passionate about patient advocacy and volunteerism, he actively contributes to the American Academy of Dermatology and holds memberships in several dermatologic specialty societies. He has also served as a Director-at-Large for the Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology and is currently the Dermatology Delegate to the Pennsylvania Medical Society, representing the voice of all dermatologists at the state level.
